Hi there from Alaska! I stumbled upon your blog just now and I was wondering if you could recommend any books re: Buddhism. I'm on a similar spiritual path and feel the same way that you do about letting kids find their own path. I'm just here to open some doors for them! I have a 4 and 12 year old and was searching for any age appropriate books and materials.
I look foward to perusing your blog!

Good luck in your gardening endevours!
'Scuse my spelling!

We love gardening and miss it terribly as we have been apartment dwelling with no decent sun exposure on our patio for the last year or so. Hopefully the fall will bring a house and a yard our way. I have grand plans for gardening as part of our botany unit next spring! There is something precious about diggin' in the earth with the children. Here's hoping both your efforts flourish!

We're doing the tomatosphere project too. And I just bought a bunch of seeds. I have the worst black thumb in civilization, but hope springs eternal. :-)

I don't have any helpful suggestions - because we're caught up in Pokemania at our house too! My son got his first Pokemon cartridge and was handed down an old Game Boy Advance a few months ago, and he too is an instant expert on attacks, and evolutions, and battles, and trainers, and badges, and... gah! BUT... he does read a lot for this obsession, both the text in the game and books, guidebooks and on the pokedex... and I figure everyone has some obsession in life, and it's OKAY that he's immersed in this right now and it won't last forever.

Hey, it won't last forever, WILL IT? I don't think I can take too many more months of, "Hey Mom! What's your favorite flying-type pokemon? Do you know what the hardest battle you'll have in Cerulean City is? What level does Abra evolve at?" :D
